Emad Salameh's Izhiman Premier: A Blend of Luxury and Modernism

Unveiling a Unique Apothecary Shop Design Inspired by Jerusalem's Heritage

Emad Salameh's award-winning design, Izhiman Premier, is a perfect blend of luxury and modernism, inspired by Jerusalem's heritage. The design is a testament to the evolution of apothecary shop design, featuring a mix of rich materials and modern geometric lighting elements.

Emad Salameh, the main architect and interior designer of the project, drew inspiration from the roots of the nineteenth century and Jerusalem's heritage. The first Izhiman family-based brand store was established in Bab Al Amud, pioneering the field of coffee making shops in Jerusalem. Salameh's design aims to uphold this legacy by choosing the best sources of green coffee and employing the most recent techniques and technologies.

The design of Izhiman Premier is characterized by a luxurious yet modern feel. The use of rich materials such as Walnut Wood, Calcutta Marble, and Red Copper, coupled with modern geometric lighting elements, creates a signature piece that gives a thrilling feel of the mix between luxury and modernism. The design also features acrylic containers, customised display units, and a main counter designed using Calcutta laminam, American walnut, ivory corian, and black ceramic tiles.

The realization of the design involved meticulous planning and execution. The acrylic containers, one of the main products used, were designed with maximum details and sent to China for production. The main counter, a challenge due to the implementation of the curved corner using Calcutta Laminum, was crafted by cutting vertical strips with a thickness of 5 cm and placing them next to each other to give the curved look.

Salameh's design also focuses on the intelligent and maximized use of space for ultimate product display. The product distribution is based on function and client preferences, with a modern and elegant design compatible with the served store products. The containers are user-friendly and easy to clean, and the materials used give customers a feel of comfort and spaciousness.

The project, which started in July 2017 and finished in November 2017 in Amman, Jordan, faced several challenges. These included finding materials that serve the function while being durable and cost-efficient, and zoning the areas given the items to be displayed had a lot of necessities. However, these challenges were overcome by thorough research and careful study of the specifications.

The Izhiman Premier design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Emad Salameh's design, admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
